High end eyeshadow palette reviews

Hello Beauties,

Jessica here with a review of four gorgeous palettes from Too faced, Urban Decay, Mac and Estee Lauder - may the palette war begin!
Too Faced, Urban Decay, Mac and Estee Lauder palettes

Estee Lauder: Pure Color Envy Sculpting Eyeshadows

Price of palette?
Palette was received within a limited edition set Estee Lauder release each year around Christmas time. However, you can buy the 'Pure Color Envy 5-color palette' all year round (which is the same palette but with less/different shades).

Amount of eyeshadows?
12 eyeshadows with two larger 'Pure Color' blushes. Eyeshadows are decently sized and haven't hit the pan still!

Packaging
As previously mentioned the packaging is dependent on the limited edition set. Regardless, I have two of the pure color limited edition sets from two different years and both consist of a golden, clasp lid with a black casing. The gold outer casing feels luxurious and sophisticated. (It also looks so pretty on my dressing table).

Pigmentation
If you haven't guessed by now you will notice how I am hard to impress when it comes to makeup (spoils of trying so much of it), so you can imagine my disappointment when I discovered the pigmentation wasn't as great as I expected for the price. I've heard so many reviews raving about the eyeshadows but I just don't find them as pigmented as my Urban Decay and Too Faced palette's. Regardless, I still continue to use the palette and the shades really are something else! So pretty.

Overall score
As much as it pains me, I have to give this palette a 6/10. I'm not sure if it's just because my palettes are in the limited edition sets instead of individual, but I just can't get over the lack of pigmentation. However, I have heard that with their new range they have updated some of their formulas so I would recommend to try out their new eyeshadow collections.

Too Faced: Natural Matte Eyeshadow Collection

Price of palette?
Retails for £32.

Amount of eyeshadows?
9 eyeshadows displayed in 3 rows, showing 3 different makeup looks. (Or you can mix and match like I do).

Packaging
Do I really have to say anything about the packaging with Too Faced? By far the cutest packaging, I instantly fell in love with the indented font and magnetic casing. Definitely my favourite packaging out of all the palettes, and sturdy as hell!

Pigmentation
Wow proceed with caution with these eyeshadows because they're pigmented as anything. The shadows are lovely and creamy with hardly any-to-no fallout - only a little is needed on your brush.

Overall score
Without a doubt a 10/10 for this beauty. The shadows are pigmented, the packaging is adorable and sturdy, the colours are pretty matte shades that are really natural and work both day or night...the palette ticks all the boxes.

Urban Decay: Naked Smoky palette

Price of palette?
Retails for £38.50

Amount of eyeshadows?
12 very generously-sized eyeshadows

Packaging
Similar to the other naked palettes, the palette is plastic with a magnetic clasp. The packaging is by far the sturdiest (I know as I've dropped it accidentally a few times) and really classy.

Pigmentation

Many people already rave about how pigmented Urban Decay eyeshadows are and I certainly have to agree. Not only this, but the palette contains both matte and shimmer shades and they both are just as pigmented, which is a nice treat! The shimmer shades also contain fine glitter which means you don't have clumps of glitter on your eyes.

Overall score
Overall I have to give this palette 10/10, it just ticks all the boxes and I cannot fault it.

Mac Palette: Amber Times Nine

Price of palette?
Original price was £30 now reduced to £25.

Amount of eyeshadows?
Nine round eyeshadows, would have preferred slightly larger pans for the price.

Packaging
Have to say I love the less-is-more vibe they seem to be going for, with a black plastic case and a clear lid so you can see the shades with the MAC logo.

Pigmentation
The pigmentation is also very good - but no where near as pigmented as Too Faced and Urban Decay shadows.

Overall score
This palette is receiving a 8/10 off me. The shades are really pretty and the pigment is quite good. This is definitely a good starter palette for someone.

Love,
The Hamptons
