Jessica here with a post reviewing the new L'oreal pure clay face masks.
There's three face masks in the range which can be identified by there different colours: black, green, and red. All masks are designed to tailor to different skin problems, with the clever idea of using the different masks in different areas of your face.
The black detox mask, is designed to "cleanse and clarify". When I used this mask on my t-zone it did bring up spots, but that's what the masks designed to do, draw out all that gunk so you're left with clear, cleansed skin afterwards. This mask felt lovely to put on my skin, and I love the colour as it makes applying a mask more fun!
Next is the green purity mask, designed to deeply purify and mattify. I have to admit, I haven't tried this mask yet as my skin has been seriously dry lately, therefore it definitely didn't need anymore mattifying! Again, I'm all for the pale green colour as it looks almost like mud, making it luxurious.
The final mask is the glow mask. This one I used the most on my face, as it's designed to brighten and exfoliate. This mask felt different in texture to the detox mask, as it was grainy in texture to exfoliate the skin. This mask definitely lived up to its name, my skin looking so glowy and soft like a baby.
All the masks are made from a blend of 3 clays and charcoal. Kaolin clay is used because it's "a highly effective natural clay, known to absorb impurities and excess sebum". Montmorillonnite is included because "it's rich in minerals, a clay recognised for helping to eliminate imperfections", and the final clay is ghassoul; "a pure clay highly concentrated in minerals renowned to help clarify complexion".
The masks retail for £5.35 each and can be found in supermarkets and drugstores. These are L'oreal's first clay masks and I definitely will be purchasing them again. When using the masks, be careful not to overdo it, only use them twice a week to notice a difference in your skin. Go buy them now!
